About this Event

NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! All student grades 9-12 welcome to participate!

HorizonHacks is a 48 hour hackathon that will be held on October 23-25, 2020. We are planning on being one of the largest hackathons in the bay area, with an expected 300-400 attendees. Attendees can expect the latest and coolest prizes, a presentation from a WORLD RENOWNED CEO, swag, and informative workshops! Our team at HorizonHacks planned this event in order to encourage and spread our love for computer science throughout the bay area. We hope that we will be able to take students ideas, and provide them to proper mentorship and guidance to turn their ideas into a reality. Through this experience we hope students will gain essential real world skills such as designing, marketing, and developing their products.

the Gigahacks team runs events to cultivate the ideas of like-minded high schoolers and solve modern problems. It’s the perfect opportunity for aspiring innovators to learn new trades and apply them, all over the course of a week. At the end of the week, participants can present their ideas to experienced judges and receive valuable feedback, all while competing for various prizes.
This year’s theme is remastery: taking something from the past and reinventing it. From old video games to ancient inventions, we want to see creative applications of modern knowledge. We implore you, reinvent the wheel and make it better!
